#093 ScrawlrBox ScrawlrChallenge: 'Kaleidoscope'.
What do the colours mean to you? Taking inspiration from this month’s featured artist, we encourage you to explore what emotions colours evoke for you and how that might be expressed onto a page. Overlap, reflect and repeat to form your very own harmonies and collision of magical colour.
Here are our picks for the #093 ScrawlrBox:

It’s amazing what 3 colours can create, this little birdy tells us just how amazing they can be. We love the loose but detailed style of this piece.
We asked what inspired you to draw this beautiful bird ?
“ Well I do a bit of nature photography on the side, and I love to photograph all the beautiful birds in my local park. These turn into references for my art. Nature itself is one big #kaleidoscope of colours! Particularly the bird species. Keeping themselves preened and colourful for the ladies.”

All of the dots, spots, swipes, squares, dabs, hatching, lines ... It’s mark making heaven and we’re in love. Excellent layering of marks and colours to create this wonderfully bright and abstract image. The use of perspective is the added cherry on top, it looks like an alternative reality we want to jump into and explore! Absolutely stunning work.
We asked what was your favourite way to use the Ecoline Markers?
“I really enjoyed using the Ecoline Markers as stamps, for mark making and also laying the colour down on a a palette to use as subtle watercolour. So versatile!”

Another fantastic use of layering, only this time with college and pattern. All forming together to create this wonderful kaleidoscope of shapes and colour.
Did you envision this pattern in your head before you started, or was it something that came together as you went along?
“Usually when I start any new peice of artowkr I have a rough idead in mind, but with this box I embraced the oppertunity to experiment and play around with patterns and colours. The DuoTip pens provided the freedom to transfer and make new colours and the use of stencils added to creating differnt patterns. The idea to make a moveable kaleidoscope only came to me after seeing all the colour explorations next to each other”
