Just look how pretty these patterns have really taken on the theme of this months box, from colour combination to using tea like the featured artist! We love it.
We can see your have really embraced a number of techniques in these, what was your favourite way to use these supplies?
“ I think my favourite way was mixing the golden pen with water. I’ve used a few different fine liners, but never thought of it before. It gives such a beautiful gradient”

Don’t know about you but we are sucker for a glimpse inside someone’s sketchbook. Seeing the inner working to an artist brain is just fascinating. And just look at the end result! What a wonderful way to incorporate the prompt into her own style..
We love the fantasy element of this work! What inspired this creation?
“I have always been drawn to natural and organic shapes. It’s a staple of my art. So when the challenge for this box focused on geometric patterns I thought I could use that to contrast with the organic shapes I normally use. And from that idea came a story. A story of an ancient stone lost to time and etched with such sophisticated markings that begs the question, is it really of this world?”

It’s giving dull, wet January in Britain and we are here for it. The only time we are in favour of this kind of weather, mind! The view from this window perfectly embracing the moodiness of the colours in the Derwent charcoal palette.
Did you enjoy the moodiness of this Derwent Charcoal Palette ?
“I totally enjoyed the moodiness of this palette! It so unusual to get such a moody looking set of colours and my first thought was: “Well... This is going to be a challenge” but I gave it a try and I was impressed how easy and relaxing it was to work with it! I love to work with charcoal, but working with charcoal used as watercolor was a next level! I love it and I’m afraid my set is going to finish very soon because how much I use it recently!”
