#106 ScrawlrBox ScrawlrChallenge: 'Squiggle Me This'

She’s giving ‘Vogue’ and we are here for it! We absolutely love the character of this peice by Zoflona, I mean just look at those eyes! Using all of these pretty Polychromos colours in style.
What was your inspiration for this piece?
My inspiration began with the print that came in the Scrawlrbox. I loved the art by Liz Y Ahmet, and I translated it into my own illustration style, where I combine fashion with anime.
I had never worked with Polychromos pencils before, and I really enjoyed taking on this challenge with a limited color palette. The way these pencils blend is so satisfying that I just went with the flow. Honestly, I didn’t expect all the colors to integrate so well, which was a real discovery. I will definitely start incorporating them into my regular illustrations.

Everything about this pops! A great use of this colour palette, massive fan of the white outline on this portrait of the iconic Frida Kahlo by Zoe.
Are colouring pencils you usual medium
to create with?
Funnily enough I would say that coloured pencils were some of my least favourite medium to use but getting them in a ScrawlrBox forced me to use and experiment with them.
I now really enjoy the detail and richness you can get through layering but also how loose and “sketchy” you can be with them too

We didn’t know we needed to see a cool poodle doodle with sunnies until we saw this little cutie by Lily. Scribbles are perfect for a poodle!
Is this cool poodle a friends of yours?
Yes, sort of, the idea is based off of my Assistance dog in training, Orvis, who is a Poodle Labrador mix! I love poodles and I think they’re so pretty to draw so that inspired me too!
