It’s like a Mandala that got infected! We love it. All the lines and colours forming into something beautiful.
Whatinspired this beautiful work?
“I loved how vivid the pens were on the black paper, and along with the prompt of exploring shapes, lines, organic forms and looking “under the microscope” I just had to do a mandala type pattern. The individual circles are based on tangle patterns, particularly ones that made me think of cells under a microscope, but apart from some pencil guidelines the overall pattern wasn’t planned out from the start. I built it up over a few days, listening to music and really enjoying the process of slow careful drawing and watching the pattern grow.”

All of the layers! These pens were made for layering and this take on the prompt used them to perfection. It’s like a life within life wiggling away! Excellent work
What was your favourite marker
in this box?
“My favourite marker is the Copic Acrea (specially the Flamingo Pink). They’re so beautifully opaque and give really
gorgeous lines”

The flow, the movement the lines! We are in love! All the little tiny amoeba like creatures in the background were a great touch. Awesome take on this prompt.
What did you think of this
months supplies?
“The supplies in this box were amazing! The colours were so bright and vivid, and being opaque really stood out against the black paper.
Looking at the featured artists work, I got the sense that big, bolder marks would be a good way to go with this one. So I used the purple almost like a pencil to draw everything first, just going for it and embracing any mistakes.”
