#088 ScrawlrBox ScrawlrChallenge: 'Chaos Confined'

It was all about the beauty of disorder in the Scrawlrbox for December ‘22, which encouraged everyone to think outside the box (or on it!), using vibrant Edding markers in order to embrace this month’s prompt of ‘Chaos confined’.

Despite this being the theme, the artwork produced with the supplies was anything but restrained. Our featured artist, MisterPhil said “If you can think of an application, I can make some art for it!” which inspired us to follow suit and to have fun with doodle art and practice mark making on things you wouldn’t consider a conventional canvas.

We really enjoyed your wonderful works of art. Here are our Top 3 for December:

All of these pieces made us smile, especially Bruce. The use of blocks of colour and minimal line work is done perfectly adding heaps of character and humor.

Tell us more about Bruce! Is the washing or the dog the main source of chaos in yur home?
“I would say it was a mixture of both the dog and the washing, and occasionally both at the same time, especially when the dog is laying in the washing and won’t let me move it!”

We love how Ina has interpreted this challenge, all of the chaos of creativity confined to one page.

We asked Ina, Is this piece an accurate depiction of your creative process? “Actually it’s inspired by the look of my desk while drawing. Paints, paper, pens, markers and pencils all over the table! Sometimes I can’t even see the surface of the table. And of course, like this girl, I always have a pen and paper with me wherever I go.”We love how Ina has interpreted this challenge, all of the chaos of creativity confined to one page!

“I loved how this month had no right or wrong, no rules, and any and every line could be relevant or just a line. It felt very freeing and was just really fun to do!”The chaos! The colours! We love it! Not only has Caroline fully embraced the theme for this months challenge, but she has really nailed the supplies - just look how crisp those lines are! Nice work.

What was your favourite thing about this months box?
“I loved how this month had no right or wrong, no rules, and any and every line could be relevant or just a line. It felt very freeing and was just really fun to do!”
