The #093 ScrawlrBox had us experimenting with colour, we tried to make as many colours as possible with the CMYK palette (which turns out to be over 16,000 combinations!) Francesca Franceschi, this month’s featured artist, also enjoys experimenting with the CMYK colours and created the wonderful abstract piece. This box contains Duotip Ecoline markers, a waterproof Copic liner and 10 sheets of mixed media paper.

Francesca Franceschi
I am a visual Artist and Designer born in Rome in 1974. Since 2012, I have lived and worked in Amsterdam, where I specialize in pattern design illustration, with decades of experience in fashion and printing applied to fabrics. My work mainly consists of researching, drawing, and illustrating, where I explore different analogue and digital techniques. As a visual artist, I use various mediums to execute projects, primarily related to fabrics. My inspiration comes from everywhere, as life is intense and exciting. I aspire to have fun while working. I have a special relationship with colours, as a synesthete, which makes it all the more interesting. Emotions, numbers, letters, and memories have colours for me, adding to my life’s richness. My art project, Superfluo, represents a bright colour concept that involves expressing what is unnecessary but necessary through feelings and colours.
What do the colours mean to you? Taking inspiration from this month’s featured artist, we encourage you to explore what emotions colours evoke for you and how that might be expressed onto a page. Overlap, reflect and repeat to form your very own harmonies and collision of magical colour.
A favourite among artists, designers and illustrators alike, the Ecoline Duotip Markers feature a bright yet transparent liquid watercolour ink made from dye and gum arabic. Complete with broad chisel tip on one side and a fine bullet nib on the other, these pens not only allow for beautiful watercolour creations but freedom of expression to make fine detail, broad lines, fluid strokes and to colour in large areas with ease. The ink lends itself to blending and mixing with ease, simply add water. You can use a brush for more watercolour effects and perfect colour transitions, or apply directly to the page. Best stored horizontally. If the tips dry up just moisten them with a little water to reactivate.

Castell 9000 Black Lead 2B Pencil
This artist quality graphite pencil is perfect for any of your drawing, scrawling and sketching. Comfortable to hold, the lead is made from finely ground graphite and clay, for smooth and consistent lay down which is also lightfast.
ScrawlrBox A5 Mixed Media Pad

Order #093
Purchase two boxes the most expensive and least expensive. All looks good, arrived on time. My only issue is the cost and how items inside (needed more) not sure that justify the cost. My daughter loves the painting portable box the little paint brush and the painting pad. And we have bought a few (cheapest ) in the past, but she gets a treat now and again on some items she likes.

Great pens
The pens are really nice however the paper provided is the worst kind of paper for these. The listing indicates we learn to make this cool kaleidoscope pattern but there’s no info how that can be achieved in the booklet.
I got this in a sale and I’m glad as I’ve had much much better boxes from Scrawlr. This one feels hastily put together compared to the others.

Nice makers, paper is not suitable at all
I got these in a sale so it was on, but the paper provided in this box is not at all made for these markers. Drawing on it you end up peeling the paper and it’s very poor experience. The artwork advertising this box… there’s no instruction or description on how to make that art in the booklet. It feels like a hastily put together box.
I tried these markers on a nice smooth paper and they are very good.
