People often ask me how I got started painting. I’ve spent my entire life dabbling in different mediums but have always been drawn back to painting. Several years ago I was inspired to paint some insects. They were nice, but I felt apprehensive about putting myself out there. Some time later a friend asked me to paint two paintings. She calls her two little sons beetles and remembered the beetles I had painted. As I was working on them, I thought, “I’m going to add some flowers into the background”. We were both so happy with the paintings and I had finally found my unique style.
Sharing art online is very much like posting a diary photo. However, I shared in spite of my apprehension. I’m so glad I did because the positive response was so refreshing. I later decided to enter my first art festival and had to literally go home and take art off the walls to have art for the second day. It was the most wonderfully amazing blessing! The rest is history...

Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer Magnus Watercolour Pencils
The Albrecht Dürer Magnus watercolour pencils from Faber-Castell are high quality watercolours that are great for providing versatility of expression when drawing, shading and painting. They feature acid free and lightfast pigment in a 5.3mm, fully water soluble lead. I already had this box as part of my regular subscription, and bought this extra box as part of a ScrawlrBox sale. I liked the masking fluid with the narrow applicator tip. The watercolour pencils are great also.
