Hello, my name is Annika Landberg and I’m a woman from Sweden who loves to create whimsical creatures and characters! My characters often have big empty eyes, no facial features and big flowy hair… simply because I like the look! I love trying out different art supplies, but I mainly use markers for my illustrations.
Since my daughter was born in 2015, I have been mostly working on a smaller scale. Creating ACEO (which stands for Art Card, Edition and Original), they are 2.5” x 3.5” original trading cards just like Pokémon cards but for artists! I sell the original cards in my Etsy shop, but I’m also a part of a monthly trading event called #ATCitupwithfriends that focus’ on Fantasy & Science fiction illustrations (ATC stands for ‘Artist Trading Card’). The group gives me a chance to feed my new found love of collecting art and for finding new artists from around the world to follow.
I also make videos on YouTube where I do time-lapse drawings, sketchbook tours and art challenges (I have a whole playlist with just ScrawlrBox videos). Right now I am on a bit of an hiatus from making videos but I hope to start making them again soon! Challenge yourself to use the limited colour palette and inspirations included to bring to life your very own woodland creatures. Experiment with how you use the supplies by blending colours, creating gradients and test different ways of using markers.
A twin tip alcohol marker that features brilliant colour with less odour than other traditional markers. Designed with the artist in mind, each air-tight cap closely matches the marker’s ink and the barrel is ergonomically shaped and prevents rolling. The markers have two nibs to create a variety of lines. The tri-chisel nib creates thin, medium, and thick widths, while the flexible brush nib creates a smooth line that changes with pressure. We have included a colourless blender which lightens marker colours or can be used to create custom colours by mixing inks on acetate, and can also help create gradients.
The same Pigma Micron quality and archival ink that artists love but in a more durable plastic nib (PN). The nib offers a smooth drawing experience with a fine to medium line width, which can be achieved depending on pressure applied. The archival quality ink is acid-free, chemically stable, waterproof, and fade resistant. So no smears, feathers, or bleeding through on most papers.
Sakura has perfected the smooth ink flow of the Gelly Roll and now has a ‘bold’ version, which we love as it puts down more ink on the page. The opaque white ink stands out on dark and coloured papers and makes highlights pop. Use it for accents, layered on top of colours and bright highlights in tonal drawings.
