The #090 Scrawlrbox, was a fun box filled with supplies to dab, dot and scrawl your way to a masterpiece. Kerry Lemon - our featured artist - encouraged us to get back to nature and experiment with different techniques and textures to create something entirely different. This box contained, 3 x Daler Rowney Fluid Acrylics, a Lyra permanent marker, a Princeton angular brush and a Canson A5 Sketchpad.
Kerry Lemon is a Brighton based artist, inspired by travel and responding to local plant life, landscape and histories. She loves materials and articulates her research in a multidisciplinary practice including sculpture, painting, drawing and collage. Although diverse, these outcomes have common roots; examining and inventing native/invasive plant species to reflect issues of climate change, migration, bio-ethics and the commonality of womxn and flora. This Princeton is part of the Select Artiste series. It is synthetic brush that is great for all your decorative and technical painting needs. Ideal for use with watercolours, oils and acrylic paints. A variety of synthetic and natural hair, the short handled select brushes with their distinct shapes allow you to truly express your creativity.
Anything is possible with this mixed media pad! Suitable for a wide range of creative techniques, this paper is idea for wet media such as watercolour, gouache and acrylic paints. Featuring acid free, medium grain, smooth, white paper in a nice and thick 300gsm weight. This pad is mould made with a Fourdrinier Machine; a technique from the 19th century, allowing constant quality of the paper.
The Lyra permanent marker ensures every creations lasts for a long time. Once fully dry, the water based ink dries opaque and super permanent, which means it will not smudge or fade in water or sunlight. Featuring a high quality, 1mm bullet nib made from durable fibre.
I was pleased to find the box contained the fluid acrylics. They are so versatile and lovely to use. I will probably be replacing these when they are used up which could be quite soon. Great box.
I love acrylics and markers. I enjoyed trying this product new to me. I liked the limited pallet and liked mixing the colors.
I liked the thick paper for this medium as well since I'd saturate areas with color.
