Katrina Young

Katrina Young is an Australian fine artist and illustrator. Her artwork spans many mediums and themes, but at it’s heart, Kat’s work aims to tell a story. Often full of whimsy, and a hint of nostalgia, much of her artwork is influenced by her own experiences, be it an interesting alleyway she found in Shinjuku, Japan, the sun through the trees on an afternoon dog walk, the soundtrack to her favourite movies, or her personal battles with chronic illness.

Copic Ciao Markers

A Scrawlr favourite! Copic’s are loved by designers, illustrators and colourists worldwide. Copic Ciao is the ideal alcohol marker for graphic artwork because of their smooth application and versatility. They’re double ended design features a Super Brush nib and a chisel nib for a variety of expressive strokes. Copics feature a transparent, expertly formulated alcohol and dye based ink. This makes them great for blending, layering, building tone, shading, finer details and line work. The brush nib is best used for colouring larger areas with streak free results, while the chisel nib is great for mark making and finer details. Staedtler 308 Pigment Liner Pen, Black, 0.8

A great pen for writing, sketching and drawing. It’s deep, dark, black pigment ink is both lightfast and waterproof and also won’t bleed when highlighted. The 0.8 size is a nice thickness for outlines as well as being small enough to work some intricate details in. The nib features a long metal tip which is deal for use with rulers for more precise line work.
