ScrawlrBox #103 challenges you to build up a series of small shapes that fit together to form something magical, taking inspiration form our featured artist, Åse Balko. Inside this box you will find a custom set of 8 Pentel Brush Sign Pen Twin Tip Markers, a Frisk gel pen in white, Uni PIN Fineliner in Sepia, and a recycled Seawhite sketchbook from their CupCycling™ range.
Drawing has always been an important part of Åse Balko’s life. She enjoys working with watercolours, markers, coloured pencils and acrylics, but she constantly returns to fineliners and patterns. Her pieces are rarely planned out in advance, and her process has a calming and meditative effect, with the patterns unfolding as she works.
Åse studied graphic design in high school and went on to study culture history, art history, and media and communication at Stockholm University. She currently lives in a small town in Sweden with her husband, working in communication.

I love scrawrlbox challenges. I have already purchased 4 boxes. I’m addicted to these interesting art challenges. This one was particularly exciting to work with the Pentel brush sign twin tip markers, sepia fine line drawing pen and the gel pen. The pocket sized drawing journal was a nice touch!
